This reads your document, splits it into sections, and asks a language model to write flashcards from what's actually there — nothing it already knows about the topic gets added in, and nothing from the file is kept once your deck is built. Anki is free, open-source flashcard software built around spaced repetition: it resurfaces each card right before you'd otherwise forget it, so a few minutes a day holds material in long-term memory far better than rereading. The file you get back (a .apkg) imports straight into it, on desktop or phone.
